Dr. Daniel Pesic

Sports medicine specialist

Dr. Daniel Pešić, sports medicine specialist permanently employed at the Military Medical Academy as head of the sports medicine office in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Belgrade, the Medical Officer's School, specializing in sports medicine and a doctor of medical sciences in the field of Experimental and Applied Physiology in Sports Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences. He is currently subspecializing in cardiology.

Biography

He is the president of the medical commission in the Judo Federation of Serbia, the president of the medical commission and the doctor of all ski teams in the Ski Federation. Member of the medical committee of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, member of the medical committee for the "Belgrade Marathon", member of the medical committee for the development and improvement of health care for athletes under the RS government (Ministry of Sports), member of the medical committee of the handball association and member of the medical committee of the athletics association.

Cooperation with the Basketball Association, and the women's basketball team, in the year of winning the title of European champion in 2015, as well as winning the bronze medal at the Olympics "Rio de Janeiro 2016". Consultant in the Rowing Association of Serbia (2019-2020). He was also an expert consultant for the Biathlon Federation of Serbia.
Collaborated as an expert consultant in the volleyball club Volero-Zurich from Switzerland during the Champions League in the 2015/16 season. Doctor in the Handball Association, women's national handball team, season 2012-2014, and consultant for the men's national selection in 2022. Taking care of the youngest FSS selections at camps, karate tournaments, athletic meetings, rowing, wrestling, and other sports events. Cooperation with the Crvena Zvezda athletics club and the development of a youth school for athletes from the club (basketball).


As a doctor at the VMA and coordinator of the CISM (Council for International Military Sports), he collaborated with athletes at a large number of sports events in the country (World and European Championships), as well as abroad (Brazil - Military Summer Olympics, Korea - Military Summer Olympics, Italy - Winter Military Olympics, China - Summer Military Olympics), where he won Olympic, world and European medals while working with professional athletes. Also, he was the head of mission for the Serbian delegation at the Military Olympics in Wuhan 2019 (China), at the CISM.

Experience

In addition to his functions and cooperation with associations as a doctor, he performed for the Serbian Military Ski Team as a competitor in the alpine disciplines SL and GS, and won a bronze medal at the Military Olympics in Aosta (2010), ITA.
He is engaged in scientific and research work in the field of exercise physiology, publishes scientific papers, is the co-author of the first Textbook on Sports Medicine (2017) in Serbia.
He is a lecturer at international and national gatherings and congresses.
He is also the winner of the award for the captain of the sports team of the year, the commemorative medal for achievements in sports and the Charter for outstanding contribution to the affirmation of military sports and the achieved results in the work of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia at the CISM.
